Angelina Jolie is going to take a role that originally was agreed upon
by Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston would go to Jennifer. The movie, “A
Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl” will
be produced by Pitt’s Plan B production company and directed by Michael
Winterbottom.
Both Pitt and Aniston co-owned Plan B and bought the rights to the book
when they were still married. At that time Jen was expected to play the
role now given to Jolie. This is according to Us Magazine. Jolie will
be playing Mariane Pearl, the wife of Daniel Pearl.
Danny Pearl was kidnapped and murdered while reporting from Pakistan in
2002. Us Magazine says that Jen ceded her stake in the company after
the couple divorced in 2005, leaving Pitt to cast his “baby-mama” in the
starring role.
People Magazine disputes the other news agency claims that Aniston was
originally set to play Mariane. Contrary to reports claiming that
Pitt's ex, Jennifer Aniston, was earlier cast as Mariane Pearl, a rep
for Pitt and Jolie tells PEOPLE, "Jennifer was never attached to that
role. When the project was first brought to Plan B, Jen was a partner in
the company at the time."
Pitt said he hopes this film will help people of different faiths
understand each other. He added “We hope the film can increase
understanding between people of all faiths and portray the story and the
people involved as honestly as possible without anger or judgment."
