Star Jones Reynolds continues to vent her bad news of being let go from
the daytime television show, “The View.” She went on CNN’s “Larry King
Live” to further explain her case.
Barbara Walters who is also the creator and executive producer and she
is also the lead host on the show. According to a report from Reuters,
Barbara Walters has said that Star Jones Reynolds gave the show negative
publicity with the wedding extravaganza that tabloids have called her
“Bridezilla” two years ago. Viewers did not like that Star Jones
Reynolds was getting a free wedding and flaunting it.
On Friday, Star Jones Reynolds made a public apology about her wedding.
She apologized for using her celebrity status to get free wedding
supplies in exchange for promoting their products. She was in her early
40’s, when she had first got married. She was so excited about the fact
that she finally got her day to tie the knot. She stated that she got
carried away from the “euphoria” of the event.
Another possible reason why viewers lost favor in Star Jones Reynolds
was that she lost over 100 pounds in a relatively short time period.
She told viewers that she did it by diet and exercise. Many people
speculate that she had gastric bypass surgery. On Larry King Live she
said that her doctors did a medical intervention due to her health
problems. She has not directly admitted that she has had gastric bypass
surgery.
Barbara Walters was shocked and felt betrayed because Star Jones did not
wait until Thursday to make the announcement, and she told viewers that
her contract was not being renewed next year and in an interview with
People magazine she said that she felt like she was fired.
Barbara Walters was hoping that Star Jones Reynolds would have excused
herself gracefully from the show, and make up a reason for leaving in a
way to help save her career.
Star Jones will have her interview replayed on Monday on CNN’s “Larry
King Live.” You can also visit CNN’s website for part of the interview
that is able to be watched on the internet.
Unfortunately, Star Jones Reynolds aired her frustration publicly for
the world to see. This can sell a lot of tabloid newspapers, but this
could really end her career. She may be able to get cameo roles in
movies playing herself, but is that going to be enough?
