Ebay takes a stand against Google’s
GBuy Payments by banning them from their eBay auctions. Even though
this is the case auction management systems have integrated this into
their payment checkout systems which would still allow it at some level.
In the mean time PayPal is having a
major overhaul of upper management. Paypal executives are changing
places with eBays telephone online company Skype. Ebay is hoping that
by changing around the management it will bring a new competitive edge
to both businesses.
Not every shopper or seller on eBay
particularly likes Paypal payment system and GBuy would be welcome as a
option for people that do not want to use Paypal. By banning GBuy
payments eBay may actually help promote GoogleBase, which is a free
classified format.
Others argue that Google’s Gbuy
payments will boost eBay and Paypal. Their argument is that eBay shares
will stabilize due to investor’s “sentiment.” There is still loyalty
towards eBay for both buyers and sellers that make it hard for someone
to do something different.
