eBay Adcontext –
eBay strikes back with Google by using Contextual Advertising with
Affiliate Marketers

Bloggers will
consider looking at the new affiliate program that eBay will offer
soon. It is a contextual based advertising that uses keywords to
determine the ads which closely mirrors Google Adsense advertising. The
new program by eBay is called Adcontext and gives people with websites
and blogs another opportunity to make advertising revenue.
Advertisers with
the eBay Adcontext program will have to pay a price for the chance to
advertise their goods. The good news is that bloggers can add
easily onto their site. Advertisements that relate to the context of
the post will generate interest in the eBay products for sale.
The bad news is
that their must be a completed transaction in order for the affiliate to
get paid. The commission could ad up to a sizeable amount depending the
amount of the sale.
Ebay has announced
the new Adcontext program this past Saturday at the annual software
developer conference in Las Vegas. Ebay will then open its Ebay Live
expo for ebay sellers on June 13th through June 15th.

will have special guest speaker Ben and Jerry Ice cream co-founder,
Jerry Greenfield. There will also be a special performance by the 80’s
band Huey Lewis & the News at the Big Gala event.
Ebay looks like it
intends to use marketing through affiliate promoters than to use the
Google search engine. You can’t blame them for shifting their marketing
dollars because Google is set to launch GBuy at the end of the month
that is a rival to eBay’s Paypal. Google also has Google Base which is
a free classified ads that allows anyone to sell their stuff.
Ebay Adcontext
should be coming in the next couple of months. It will only market eBay
auctions and it could pose to make some reasonable commissions for
bloggers.
