[Best Syndication News] The storms in Southern California have been more intermittent today, with periods of sunshine peeking out in between rain and snow storms. The snow level did reach down to the lower elevations giving a couple inches of snow cover in lower lying mountain areas in the 4500 feet range.
There has been several road closures announced for today by the California Transportation Department. These have been related to the deluge of rain storms that followed one after another all week long, creating flooding and mudslides and plenty of snow for the mountains.
On the government website they have announced the following Cal Trans Road Closures for Friday, January 22nd.

The New Madrid Fault Line has records of over 4000 earthquake reports since 1974. This fault line is also called the New Madrid Seismic Zone and has potential to devastate the states of Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi. The biggest part of the New Madrid Fault Line sits in Missouri.

[Best Syndication News] Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. announced a voluntary recall of 2.3 million of their vehicles because of a sticking accelerator pedals. They will need to repair the defect on these vehicles. There is another recall ongoing for 4.2 million Toyota vehicles because there have floor mats cause the the gas pedal to get stuck. There are around 1.7 million cars that qualify for both of these recalls.
Toyota has found that there was a rare instance that certain accelerator pedal mechanisms could stick in an accelerated position and then slowly return back to the idle position.

[Best Syndication News] IBM (NYSE: IBM) signed a definitive agreement with National Interest Security Company, LLC (NISC) to acquire them for an undisclosed sum. The privately held company is headquarters are located in Fairfax, Virginia.
NISC offers operational and strategical solutions for government agencies. This will help IBM to deliver advanced analytics and IT solutions for these agencies.
"IBM's analytic and innovation prowess, combined with NISC's industry knowledge and depth of experience in defense, healthcare, energy, and infrastructure management services, will allow us to deliver an unprecedented level of service and support to our growing list of government clients," said Chuck Prow, managing partner, public sector, IBM Global Business Services in a statement.
