Ford recalls certain 2012 Focus Vehicles for Windshield Wiper Wiring Repair

| | |
Vehicle Recall - BSN

(Best Syndication News) - The Department of Transportation's NHTSA division announced a Ford recall for certain 2012 Focus vehicles, because the passenger windshield wiper could fail. The recall involves around 140,310 vehicles that were manufactured between August 1, 2010 and October 18, 2011.

The problem is that a seal may be missing that connects the wire harness to the passenger side wiper motor. The missing seal may allow water and foreign material to surround the connector. This could cause the passenger side wiper motor to work either intermittently or not at all.

Ford is planning on starting the recall repair and inspection on or around May 21, 2012. Vehicle owners will be notified of the free repair and inspection at Ford dealerships. If the wiper motor does not work, it too will be replaced free of charge.

Car Recall - BSN

(Best Syndication News) - A widespread BMW recall was announced today for an electrical fire hazard that needs to be repaired and inspected. The models involved are the 2004-2009 BMW 5 Series, the 2010 5-Series, the 2004-2010 6 Series, the 2006-2010 M5, and the 2007-2010 M6 vehicles. A total of 367,682 vehicles are involved in this recall.

The problem is that a positive battery cable might have been incorrectly attached and could loosen over time. This loosening could cause an increase in electrical resistance at the cable connection point. The cable connection could overheat and potentially catch on fire. The fire could happen when it is not being used.
