(Best Syndication News) - Today the Ford Motor Company announced a voluntary safety recall of 2013 Escape vehicles that have the 1.6 liter engine. These recalled vehicles have a manufacturing date of July 11, 2012 or before. The larger sized engines, the 2.0-liter and the 2.5-liter, are not involved in this recall. Around 11,500 vehicles are involved in the recall with most of those vehicles being sold in the United States.

Ford is issuing the recall because the engine compartment fuel line could split open and leak fuel. This poses a danger and could cause an engine fire. Ford said no injuries were reported.

Because of the seriousness of the problem, Ford is asking vehicle owners to not drive their vehicles until the dealer can repair it. The vehicle owner can contact the Ford dealership immediately to get the repair. The dealer will deliver a loaner vehicle to them and then transport the 2013 Escape vehicle to the dealership to get the repair completed.
