Vehicle Recall - BSN

(Best Syndication News) - Toyota and Pontiac are recalling around 2,519,424 vehicles because the power windows could malfunction. The internal components of the vehicles might not be properly lubricated, which could cause the power window master switch assemblies to malfunction and overheat. If the switch overheats, it could cause it to melt or even catch on fire.

The recalled vehicles include: Toyota Camry (2007-2009 model years), Toyota Camry HV (2007-2009), Toyota Corolla (2009), Toyota Corolla (2009), Toyota Corolla Matrix (2009), Toyota Highlander (2008), Toyota Highlander Hybrid (2008), Toyota Rav4 (2007-2009), Toyota Scion XB (2008-2009), Toyota Sequoia (2008-2009), Toyota Tundra (2007-2008), Toyota Yaris (2007-2008) and Pontiac Vibe (2009). Certain vehicles within these model years are being recalled.

Honda CR-V Recall announced for Power Window Switch Failure

Car recall - BSN

(Best Syndication News) - Honda announced the recall of around 268,655 CR-V passenger vehicles because the driver-side power-window switch could fail to work correctly or melt. The problem was reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on October 5, 2012.

Only the model years between 2002 and 2006 are involved in this recall. The manufacturing dates of the recalled cars were between February 19, 2002 and July 28, 2006.

The switch that operates the window could overheat, smoke, and potentially cause a fire. Additionally, the switch could fail even when it is not being used; even with no person present in the vehicle. Because a fire potential does exist, owners should park their cars outside until the repair has been completed.
