(Best Syndication News) Lawmakers are expanding their investigation into the problems with Toyota’s sticky pedal. Rather than only focusing on the pedal, mat and assembly, it may be possible that there is trouble with the software and electronics. “We will continue to investigate all possible causes of these safety issues,” Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said in a statement today.
Now investigators in Japan and the United States are investigating problems with the brakes in Toyota Prius hybrid models. Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, has said he has complained to U.S. government officials for two months now but no one has listened. Finally he went public with his concerns.

(Best Syndication News) Toyota says they have a fix for their pedal-acceleration problem. The company’s main concern is their current customers. “Our highest priority is to fix the accelerator pedal problems for our existing customers,” the company said today in a statement.
The company has begun sending their customers information telling them how the company will fix their cars. Apparently there are parts that get worn and cause “pedal entrapment”. Toyota engineers have been working around the clock to isolate the problem and the company says the problem is rare.

Previously they thought the problem was with the floor mat.

(Best Syndication News) Toyota has halted sales of 8 models of their vehicles (see list below). The automaker says the action was necessary until the problem with the gas pedal is remedied. The announcement stunned many dealerships.
Initially Toyota claimed the floor mats caused the pedals to stick to the floor. But since then there have been cases where the floor mats have been removed and the pedal still malfunctioned. The problem may not lie in the pedal per se, but in the injection system. Either way, the company has suspended sales of some of their best selling cars.
