[Best Syndication News] Frontier Airlines announced their new additions of seven new flight destinations coming out of their Denver International Airport (DEN) hub. They will also be increasing their seasonal flights from Denver to Fort Myers to a year round schedule.
The new destinations are non-stop to Branson, Mo. (BKG); Grand Rapids, Mich. (GRR); Long Beach, Calif. (LGB); Madison, Wis. (MSN); Newport News-Williamsburg, Va. (PHF); Santa Barbara, Calif. (SBA); and seasonal nonstop service to Green Bay, Wis. (GRB).
“This is a very exciting day for Frontier Airlines as we continue to show our strong commitment to Denver,” said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s vice president of planning and strategy. “With the delivery of three new Airbus A320s and additional E190s this spring we are able to expand our service to new and under-served markets out of Denver, as well as increase frequencies in several of our popular markets. Customers in our seven new markets can now look forward to Frontier’s excellent customer service and affordable fares as they travel to Denver and beyond.”

(Best Syndication News) Diabetes was discussed on the Oprah Winfrey Show Thursday. “People are dropping like flies” and diabetes especially affects the African American Community, according to Oprah.
“I have a radical goal in the next 60 minutes to save millions of lives,” the talk show host opened her show with. As a heart surgeon, Dr Mehmet C Oz, says he sees people with diabetes all of the time. In the United States alone there are 80 million people who have diabetes or on the verge of getting it and there are another 6 million people who have it and don’t know it.
Americans spend $174 billion a year on the disease and that will double in 25 years. That is more than AIDS and all of the cancers combined. “At this rate it will bankrupt our health care system,” Oprah said.

(Best Syndication News) The Los Angeles County Coroner reports that Casey Johnson died of diabetic ketoacidosis. Johnson, the great-great-granddaughter of Robert Wood Johnson I, co-founder of Johnson & Johnson, died January 4th. Ed Winters with the coroner’s office tells Best Syndication that the manner of death was “natural”. She was 30-years old.
Typically this type of acidosis occurs in people with type-1 diabetes but it can also occur in people with type-2 diabetes. In certain cases this condition results from an shortage of insulin. The body then switches to burning fat which produces fat acids.

[Best Syndication News] The Smithsonian's National Zoo sent the giant panda, Tai Shan off to China early this morning at 9:04 a.m. from the Dulles International Airport.
The giant panda Tai Shan was born on July 9th, 2005, and was named Tai Shan, which means “peaceful mountain,” The zoo had a panda webcam that people could watch the panda bear grow up as well as become a favorite for many visitors at the Washington National Zoo. The Zoo actually had received an extension of 2 ½ years beyond the original agreement with the China Wildlife Conservation Assocation. Now Tai Shan will be used as part of the panda breeding program at the Wolong’s Bifengxia Panda Base in Ya’an, Sichuan, China.
[Best Syndication News] On December 20th, 2009, actress Brittany Murphy unexpectedly died from cardiac arrest. The Los Angeles Coroner's office told the media on this Thursday the cause of death was from a combination of pneumonia, anemia, and “multiple drug Intoxication.”
The actress was taking a combination of prescription and over-the-counter medications. The coroner at this time believes the death was accidental. It will take around two more weeks for the complete autopsy report to be issued.
