Hollywood Video, Game Crazy and Movie Gallery announces 760 Stores Closing – Company Filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

[Best Syndication News] Movie Gallery Inc. has filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy proceedings. This reorganization will cause the company to close 760 Movie Gallery, Hollywood Video, and Game Crazy stores across the United States. Stores in Canada are not affected by the restructuring.

The store closures are happening because they have not been profitable. There will remain 1,906 stores in the U.S., including 1,111 Movie Gallery, 545 Hollywood Video and 250 Game Crazy store locations that will continue to operate, however the corporation warns that they will more than likely will be closing more stores during the Chapter 11 process.

[Best Syndication News] The nominations that no actor wants to receive is the Razzie award. You can vote for your pick for the Berry Worst Movies of last year and also for the past decade. They will be having their 30th annual Razzie Awards ceremony the day before the Academy Awards on March 6th, at 7:30 p.m. PT. , at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in Hollywood.

In Previous year's, Paris Hilton won an Razzie for her acting, but so did Halle Berry for her Catwoman.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - DVD Movie Review

[Best Syndication News] The movie, 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs' is based on a book with the same name. The film is a 3D animation about a young man that wants to invent something to make the world a better place and at the same time get the recognition from his Dad and from his community.

The story takes place on a island off in the Atlantic ocean. The city is known for sardines, and when people stopped buying sardines that's all they could eat was sardines.

The main character Flint Lockwood immediately wins you over with his silly inventor personality. He loses his mother when he was growing up and is his father runs a bait shop, which his father wants him to give up his dream of inventing to work with him at the family business.

Sherlock Holmes Movie Opens In Second Place Behind Avatar

(Best Syndication News) Like other new Robert Downey Jr. movies, the new “Sherlock Holmes” movie is nothing like the old Basil Rathbone episodes that appeared in the 1930s and 40s. The edgy movie opened this weekend grossing more than $65 million behind Avatar with $75 million.

Jude Law plays Doctor Watson alongside Downey as Sherlock Holmes in this 2009 adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective novel. The movie begins with Holmes and Watson stopping the human sacrifice just in time to allow Inspector Lestrad (Eddie Marsan) to arrest him. Lord Blackwood is place in custody while Holmes and Watson go about their mundane life.

Avatar Is Bigger Hit Than Expected

(Best Syndication News) Avatar is the new holiday blockbuster which could help bring fantasy science fiction back into the mainstream (see trailer below). The James Cameron movie topped $77.35 million in ticket sales nationwide. Sales were better than expected.

The “Princes and the Frog” and “The Blind Side” both raked in over $10 million from Friday through Sunday night. “Did You Hear About the Morgans?” grossed $7.7 million while “New Moon” is still holding strong in fifth place, amazingly. But the audience really loved “Avatar” with worldwide totals reaching $230 million.
