Current Mortgage Rates Today – Wells Fargo and Bank of America Make Changes

(Best Syndication News) Mortgage rates edged higher today as lenders continue to adjust their products to the changing secondary lending market (see charts below). stocks were mixed as the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) moved lower and the S&P 500 and NASDAQ gained ground.

The average 30-year fixed rate mortgage (FRM) jumped 11 basis points (bps) in one day. The average 30-year rate is now 4.264 percent (see the chart below). The most common mortgage product has climbed 60 bps over the last 100 days.

Freddie Mac (FHLMC) has not updated their 30-year required net yield rate (RNY) for over one week, but this secondary lending factor has been steadily increasing as well. Fannie Mae (FNMA) raised their 30-year 60-year RNY rate one basis point on Tuesday.

New Chairperson of San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors

(Best Syndication News) The Board of Supervisors (BOS) took a vote on Tuesday and unanimously elected Supervisor Gary Ovitt as Vice Chair and Janice Rutherford as Chairman of the Board. Fifth District Supervisor Josie Gonzalez has been the Board Chair for the past two years.

Rutherford, whose second district encompasses parts of Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, and the mountain resorts, called the election a privilege. “The Board has made tremendous strides over the past two years to focus on the County Vision and to restore public faith in County Government,” Rutherford said.

San Bernardino Public Library brings Civil War History to Life

(Best Syndication News) - The San Bernardino Public Library will be hosting a Civil War re-enactment celebrating 150 years since Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. The library will have free “living history” programs throughout the month of January to bring history alive.

On January 12, 2013, between 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., the Feldheym Central Library (located at 555 W. 6th Street in San Bernardino) will have American Civil War Society members dressed up as Confederate Soldiers, Union Soldiers, and Civilian Corps from the Civil War era. The American Civil War Society is one of the largest nonprofit groups to reenact this particular historical period in California. The group will also have re-enactors portraying Abraham Lincoln, Mary Todd Lincoln, General and Mrs. Ulysses S. Grant, and General Robert E. Lee. This is a family friendly event and is intended to educate students about Civil War history.

New Supervisors for San Bernardino County

(Best Syndication News) Last year’s elections ushered in two new elected officials on the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors (BOS). Robert A. Lovingood was elected to the First District BOS and James Ramos replaced outgoing supervisor Neil Derry in the third district.

Lovingood took over the seat vacated by Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt who ran for Congress. Colonel Paul Cook was sworn in to the 113th House of Representatives today. Cook and Gregg Imus battled for the newly reapportioned California 8th congressional district in November.

Disney’s ‘Destination: Cars Land’ Float to appear in the 2013 Rose Parade

(Best Syndication News) – Workers are applying the final touches to Disneyland Resort’s float as it gets ready to appear in the 124th Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. This year, Disney's "Destination: Cars Land" float will feature Lightning McQueen, Sally, and more of the characters from the Pixar animated film Cars.

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) based their latest design on the Disney California Adventure Park's newest attraction called Cars Land, which opened in June 2012. The float will also feature a replica of the Cars Land park attraction.
