[Best Syndication News] Telomere length is a chromosome marker that measure aging, and those that had more Omega-3 fatty acid in there blood levels had longer lengths which would be considered less damage done, and more potential longevity for an individual. A study that appears in the January 20th issue of JAMA looks at the relationship of omega-3 fatty acid levels and telomere lengths in individuals diagnosed with coronary artery disease.
Researchers from the University of California, San Francisco, studied the telomere length of 608 outpatients that was diagnosed with stable coronary artery disease. They measured omega-3 fatty acid levels in the blood and measured the teleomere lengths over a nine year period of time.

(Best Syndication News) There may be an inverse relationship between cancer and Alzheimer’s disease, according to research published in the journal Neorology. This exciting discovery could lead to treatments for both diseases because cancer is less likely to develop in Alzheimer’s patients and Alzheimer’s is less likely to develop in cancer patients (details below).
According to American Academy of Neurology member, Catherine M. Roe, PhD, of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, this is thrilling research. “Discovering the links between these two conditions may help us better understand both diseases and open up avenues for possible treatments”, Roe said. She is also the author of the study.

[Best Syndication News] Leptin is a protein that is related to controlling appetite and weight however it is also serves the brain as well. Researchers from the Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) published a study that appears in the December 16th issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) which saw people had a reduced risk for developing Alzheimer's Disease and dementia with higher levels of Leptin.
The researchers suggest that leptin has a positive effect on how the brain develops and functions. They believe that leptin interacts with how the hippocampus works and could be related to improved memory function by increasing the apolipoprotein E-dependent B amyloid uptake into the cell and reduce brain extracellular concentrations of B-amyloid. By reducing the amount of B-amyloid it could reduce the development of Alzheimer's disease which is a major part that contributes to the condition.

Aging means having to witness the effects of genetics, gravity, and the consequences of a lifetime of bad habits as they surface on the body and face. Each year the mirror reveals more evidence of the betrayals of time. The betrayals are endless, and include such things as age spots from sun damage, fine lines, sags, wrinkles, dryness, and large pores.
And sometimes an unexpected rosy glow shows up too. Could it be rosacea? Most of us hear that word and immediately picture someone we know with a bright red face, that never ever goes away. In reality, rosacea is an inflammatory condition that can affect any area of skin on the body and destroy the sufferer's self-esteem at the same time.
A reported 14 million people in the United States suffer from a form of rosacea. Some admit they miss work, and others even isolate themselves from the public, all due to this condition. As of yet, there's no known cause or cure for rosacea. However, the symptoms can be treated and managed with great success.
