Dunkin’ Donuts plans expansion for Southern California Locations
(Best Syndication News) - Dunkin Brands Group Inc. (NASDAQ: DNKN) announced plans to open more Dunkin’ Donut stores in 2013, especially in Southern California. The company’s long-term goal is to have over 15,000 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants operating in the United States.
The company is looking for multi-unit franchisees for the counties of Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, San Bernardino, Ventura, and Orange. The restaurants would start to open in 2015. The company is also seeking other franchise opportunities, such as operating within a college, university, military base, supermarket, and airport or travel center.
The expansion of Dunkin’ Donut locations throughout the United States is a continuing trend. In 2012, Dunkin Donuts opened 291 net new locations nationwide. The net new growth rate in 2012 was 4 percent. In 2013, between 330 and 360 net new Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants are planned to open throughout the U.S., which is a 4.5 to 5.0 percent increase. Additionally, over 600 Dunkin’ Donuts locations underwent remodeling in 2012.
The company will offer franchisees more flexible design concepts for their locations, including freestanding stores, end caps, kiosks, gas stations, and more. The company is offering extra incentives for franchisees, such as reduced royalty fees in the early years and $10,000 for local store marketing for qualified candidates.
