Dream On Me High Chair and Infant Swing recall announced for Strangulation Concern
(Best Syndication News) - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of Dream On Me high chairs and infant swings because the child could slip down and get stuck, which poses a strangulation danger. No injuries were reported in association with either product safety recall.
Bistro High Chair Recall
Around 90 high chairs are involved in this product recall. The problem is that the tray and seat bottom allows the child to slip down and become entrapped causing a strangulation hazard when the user does not properly secure the safety harness. Additionally, there are exposed springs on the seat and armrest that could cause the child to be pinched.
The high chairs were originally sold at America Kids, Kid Pro USA, and online at Toysrus.com. The chair may have also been purchased in other specialty stores. They sold for around $75 between November 2011 and September 2012.
The recalled high-chair will display the “225” model number. The model number can be found on a tag on back of the seat. The recalled date code is July 2011. The high chair came in either pink or blue color with a polka-dot fabric design on the seat. The words “Dream On Me” are on a label that is on the front white plastic tray.
Consumers who have the recalled high chairs are instructed to not use the product. Instead, they should contact Dream On Me Inc., to get a free replacement high chair. The contact information is listed below.
Happy Swing II Recall
Around 560 infant swings are being recalled by Dream on Me because the child could become strangled if they slip down between the tray and seat or between the grab-bar and seat when the safety harness is not used.
The swings were sold at baby product specialty stores, CSN stores nationwide, and online at Wayfair and Amazon.com. The swings sold for around $80 - $130 between October 2012 and September 2012.
The 432 model number is involved in this recall. To find the model number on the product, look for a label that is on the frame of the swing. The Happy Swing II has fabric that came in red and green. The swing has a tray and a grab-bar attachment and a triangular frame with a front and back base that comes up to the battery-operated controls.
Consumers who have the recalled infant swings should not use them. To get a replacement for the recalled product, consumers should contact Dream On Me Inc. for instructions on how to get a free replacement swing, or to get a free Melody Musical baby walker instead.
