OnLive Video Gaming over the Internet is Launched
(Best Syndication News) - OnLive Inc., has launched their OnLive Game Systems which is currently available for pre-order with orders starting to ship on December 2, 2010. The new video game console starts at $99. The company is offering a special holiday promotion of any Onlive game for free with the purchase of the console which they say is up to a $49.99 value.
The way that OnLive Game System works is different that the other video game consoles. This one you connect to the Internet to get you video games. You don't have any discs to purchase. But this also means that you will be paying to play the games. It could be good because they have different levels of game play, you can rent for a few days or go for a Full Play Pass. The rentals range from 3 to 5 days for the cost between $3.99 to $8.99 depending of the video game. The Full Play Pass costs between $4.99 to $49.99. They are also planning to offer an unlimited access monthly subscription option for those that want to be able to play all the games that they offer.
Currently OnLive has 35 games available to play which include Borderlands®: Game of the Year Edition, Just Cause® 2, Mafia® ll, NBA® 2K11, Shaun White Skateboarding. More games are being added as well.
The OnLive Game System will also have access to play other people over the Internet. It also makes it easy to get playing a new game, you won't have to drive down to the store to buy a new disc and there are now pile of old used video games that you no longer play to worry about.
One thing to investigate is the Internet speed you will need to play the games. Chances are a dial-up connection would be difficult or maybe even impossible to use their online video game service.
