Inversion Bench Recall – Falling could cause Head and Neck Injuries

[Best Syndication News] ICON Health & Fitness Inc., along with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission have initiated a voluntary recall of inversion benches that the company distributes due to the risk of falling and injuring the head and neck.

ICON Health & Fitness have distributed the inversion exercise equipment under the following brand names. These are the brands that are involved in the recall:

  • Nordic Track Revitalize inversion table
  • Gold's Gym inversion table
  • Weider Club inversion table
  • There is a risk that the ankle clamp could break which could lead to a person falling on their head or neck when tipped upside down on the inversion table. Icon Health & Fitness have received 75 reports of the ankle strap breaking, with 23 people receiving an injury to the head or neck because of the product defect.

    There was approximately 33,000 units sold at Walmart and Sears stores nationwide from April 2008 through February 2009. They retailed between $200 - $300.

    The company is asking owners of the inversion table to stop using it and contact the them for a free repair kit. You can either visit their website at or call ICON Health & Fitness toll-free at (866) 506-9095 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. MT Monday through Friday.
