(Best Syndication News) The annual election of the Pinon Hills Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors was held Tuesday night at the monthly meeting. There was some confusion over director terms at the board meeting which started at 5:30 pm (The chamber meeting started at 7 pm). The bylaws state that the directors serve for two year staggered terms.
After Treasurer RJ Goodman presented the summary report of the Chamber accounts, the board reviewed the bylaws to ensure compliance. Page 2 (article III section 3) of the bylaws states: “All elected Directors shall serve for a minimum of two (2) years. Terms of the office shall be staggered.”

The ballots of the election were already printed up so the members of the board decided to cross off Jane Rowan and RJ Goodman who were elected just last year. Interestingly the members of the chamber, and not the board, pick the officers including the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.
Jane and RJ were still available for officer positions. The ballot included lines for the four officer positions and historian. The historian “shall keep account of all Chamber activities and publicized events of historical nature.” The historian can use scrapbooks, photo albums or “such other form as the historian may develop.”
Dan Wilson volunteered to become the historian and keep track of activities using the chamber website. Members of the chamber were encouraged to signup (subscribe) to the website using their email accounts.
After the election, nomination committee chairperson Nancy Cosgrove provided the results. The slate was approved by the board, including the election of new board member Jeri Plager.
Here is a list of the board members:
Ellen Sullivan
Sandi Hemmingway
Dan Wilson
Randy Sampias
Nancy Cosgrove
Sandy Young
Jeri Plager
Jane Rowan and RJ Goodman will continue to serve their two year terms.
