[Best Syndication News] There has been a mixed message coming from the medical field if getting the H1N1 swine flu vaccination is a good idea or not. ABC's Nightline TV show interviewed doctors that had differing views of the vaccine.
Currently the Nasal mist H1N1 vaccine is currently available this week, but shots are still being delivered and are needed for pregnant women to get their vaccination.
On Nightline, Dr. Racine from New York said that they are in a race for the vaccine before the virus arrives. There are some doctors that said to hold off and see what happens. The TV show interviewed a doctor that said that the flu is currently mild and the vaccine is not perfect. The flu isn't that bad.
The concern is the side effects that are associated with taking the vaccine. Could a child develop any symptoms. It takes a couple of weeks for it to protect you. Some people have soreness and may have a fever, but not actually be sick.
On the other side of the debate, the ABC's medical doctor recommended getting both the seasonal flu shot and the H1N1 flu shot.
