[Best Syndication News] Remember the 80's TV Show 'Fantasy Island', well fast forward a few decades and it is being remade into a reality show format. Mark Burnett, who is the creator of hit reality shows 'Survivor' and 'Apprentice' is creating a new reality show based on the concept of the original Fantasy Island TV show. For the nostalgia, check out the video of the opening to the original 'Fantasy Island' TV show that aired from 1978 - 1984.

Burnett is working with Sony Pictures TV to produce the show.

The contestants on the show will be competing to make their guests fantasies come true, but the goal of the show is they are competing to become the next real life Mr. or Mrs. Rourke.

Fantasies such as a dream wedding or reuniting with a lost love are just some of the fantasies that the contestants will have to deliver for their guests.

It will be interesting how much they will follow the concept of the original TV series and how much of it will be strictly a competition type of a show. Hopefully they film in a tropical paradise with luxury villas being made available for the contestants to reside while they compete.

At this time the show is being shopped around the networks and at the time of this writing it is not clear which one might pick up the show.
