(Best Syndication News) The new comedy / horror film, “Zombieland”, topped the box office charts this weekend grossing more than $25 million. Last week’s winner, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” took the second place slot with $16.7 million. Amazingly, the 3D version of the 1995 “Toy Story” film came in third place grossing $7.35 million in its opening weekend (see all of the numbers below).
The romantic / comedy, “The Invention of Lying”, hit the theaters running making it to fourth place in the opening weekend (see all of the trailers below). “Whip It’, the roller derby drama staring Ellen Page, Sarah Habel, Shannon Eagen and Edward Austin took the six place slot folled by the Michael Moore documentary “Capitalism: A Love Story”.

Did you ever wonder what it would be like to be one of the few humans left after the world turned Zombie? Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg – “Adventureland”) and Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson – “Cheers” television show) are two of those people (see the trailer below).
The pair are stuck in a world with crazy un-dead people. The fun really begins when they team up with Wichita and Little Rock to whack those remaining zombies. Zombieland was expected to do well, but amazingly the Woody Harrelson beat out every other movie this weekend.
Can you imagine a world where everyone told the truth and no one ever lied? The word lie didn’t even exist when Mark Bellison (Ricky Gervais – “The Office” television show) began to tell fibs.
What would a comedy be without a love interest? Mark begins a campaign of lie to win over Anna (Jennifer Garner – “Daredevil”).
Although her mother tries to inspire Bliss Cavendar (Ellen Page – “Juno”) to enter beauty pageants, the young Texas girl has other ambitions: Bliss wants to skate in the roller derby. This film was Drew Barrymore’s directing debut.
Here is the list of the top ten movies:
