[Best Syndication News] Nicole Richie, 27, gave birth to Sparrow James Midnight Madden, a baby boy that was born in the early hours of September 9th. Joel Madden,30, is the proud father.

The baby boy is the couples second child. Their first born was big sister Harlow Winter Kate Madden who was born in January 2008.

Nicole Richie posted a note on her website at http://nicolerichie.celebuzz.com/2009/09/excited-to-announce/ the following:

In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009
Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.

He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing
well. Thank you for all of your good wishes.
