[Best Syndication News] The pneumonic plague has killed three people living in the Qinghai province which has prompted the China government to quarantine around 10,000 people living in that area. This has caused residents of the farming town to attempt to flee the quarantine.

So far there has been reports of at around a dozen people that has been infected by the pneumonic plague. It is a lung infection that can kill a person within 24 hours if not treated.

The government sent in medical workers to disinfect and kill rodents and insects that might be transmitters of the disease.

According to the AP report, the Tibetan woman told them that there wasn't many people out in the streets and many of the construction workers left work early.

The government set up checkpoints to prevent these people from fleeing the area. China officials have contacted the World Health Organization (WHO) in efforts to control the spread of this deadly disease.

The Pneumonic plague, also called the Black Death was what killed millions of people in Europe during the middle ages. It can be spread from human to human easily by airborne mehtods. The disease if treated early can be cured with antibiotics. The pneumonic plague is the most virulent and it is the least common form of plague. It has the highest ratio of death if untreated.

Plague cases are reported every year, with 24,000 cases over the last decade with around 2,000 deaths worldwide.
