[Best Syndication News] The H1N1 swine flu pandemic has been making its way around the world and currently the state of California is having a generalized widespread flu cases being reported by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

In the state of California, Orange County is reported to have the highest numbers of deaths caused from the H1N1 swine flu bacterial infection inside the state. There have been 5 deaths in Orange County according to the California Department of Public Health.

There have been 233 people infected with the swine flu that needed to be hospitalized in California. Altogether, the CDC reports that 1,985 cases and 21 deaths have occurred in the state of California. This is the second highest numbers following New York which has a reported 2,499 cases with 44 deaths.

The World Health Organization reports that the number of H1N1 swine flue infections worldwide is at 94,512 with 429 deaths. In the United States there have been a total of 33,902 cases with 170 deaths.

The infection rate of the H1N1 swine flu could be much higher because many of these infections are confirmed only when the infected person is checked into a hospital because of the illness.

WHO reported that they have found strains of the H1N1 virus that are resistant to the antiviral drug, Tamiflu. The strains were found in Denmark, Japan, Hong Kong, and China. They used laboratory testing on the H1N1 virus to determine this information.

Currently there is no vaccine for the H1N1 virus and people that have health problems should try to avoid getting sick if possible. The swine flu generally hasn't been life threatening for healthy individuals. Always remember to wash you hands often. Seek out medical attention if you have flu symptoms.
