[Best Syndication News] Actress, Farrah Fawcett, died at 9:28 a.m. Pacific time at the St. John’s Heath Center in Santa Monica, California. Fawcett was first diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006, and lost the battle after the cancer returned in February of 2007.

People Magazine reported that Ryan O'Neal, friend Alana Stewart, friend and hairdresser Mela Murphy and her doctor Lawrence Piro were present while she passed away. Her son, Redmond was not able to visit but talked with her over the phone, said a Los Angeles NBC News report.

Fawcett made her claim to fame starring in the 1970's “Charlies Angels” TV show and was considered as on of the beauties of the day with her blonde feathered hairstyle becoming her trademark. Her hairstyle set a trend that many women copied. She became a pin up girl on posters back in the 70's. She still had the body at 50 and she posed in Playboy magazine in 1995 and in 1997.

She received and Emmy nomination for her acting in the 1984 TV movie, “The Burning Bed.” She received two more Emmy nominations for her roles in the miniseries “Small Sacrifices and in 2004's “The Guardian.”

Fawcett was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Feb. 2, 1947. She was the younger daughter, her mother was a homemaker and her father was an oil-field contractor.

“Farrah's Story,” a TV documentary recently aired which chronicled her battle with cancer.

Fawcett was previously married to Lee Majors, star of "The Six Million Dollar Man," from 1973 to 1982. Fawcett and O'Neal were reported to have started dating in 1980 and the two never tied the knot, but there was reports that O'Neal and Fawcett were to marry while she was in the hospital this past week.

Fawcett and O'Neal have a 24 year old son, Redmond.

O'Neal told People Magazine that they are planning a funeral service at a downtown Los Angeles Catholic cathedral in the next few days.
