[Best Syndication] The US Open continues on with Nadal, Federer, Henin, and the Williams sisters making it to the next round of this year’s tennis competition.

Rafael Nadal, 21, from Spain, is playing with a knee injury, but has managed to win 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 playing against opponent, Alun Jones (ranked 123rd in world) who is from Australia. Nadal was taken out of the tournament two weeks earlier for an arm injury. Nadal is also suffering from knee problems, which both knees are taped while he played his matches. Nadal said that he thinks his knees are starting to feel better than two days previously and hopes to stay in the tournament.

Roger Federer, 26, from Switzerland, beat out Paul Capdeville from Chile with scores of 6-1, 6- 4, 6-4. This is Federer’s 22nd straight match during the U.S. Open. Federer is the most likely to win the men’s title this year. If Federer succeeds, this will be his fourth continuous years in a row of winning the title. Federer is scheduled to play against John Isner, 22, from the US.

Henin, who is from Belgium, was also 2003’s US Open winner. Henin played against Tsvetana Pironkova and won with a score of 6-4 and 6-0. Henin has also won six Grand Slam champions from the Australian Open.

Serena Williams won playing against Maria Elena Camerin from Italy with scores of 7-5 and 6-2. So far, Williams has won the US Open twice. She has also won eight Grand Slam titles from the Australian Open.

Sister to Serena, is Venus Williams, who won against Ioana Raluca Olaru from Romania with scores of 6-4 and 6-2. Venus Williams had won her fourth Wimbledon tournament last month. If Venus wins the US Open, it will be her third time. Venus has also taken two Grand Slam titles from the Australian Open.
